If you check out the WP Time Capsule website, you will see that everything about WPTC is different from IWP in all aspects. WPTC has a lot of features that are focussed on backups, auto-updates and security areas whereas InfiniteWP remains to be the multiple management solution. With WPTC, you get incremental backups. These backups occupy very less space, are faster and will not put any strain on your WordPress website server. Restores are also validated to ensure that the backup has completed successfully so that you won’t have any trouble while restoring a site if needed. If you are running an update, the WPTC plugin automatically backs up your site before the update, be it a manual or an auto update. So you can restore if something goes wrong. More like an insurance for your WordPress sites. On the security front, the plugin will automatically detect security updates and just run them on your WordPress site without you having to do it manually. Staging in InfiniteWP requires FTP access and can be done on other servers, with WPTC it’s simple one click staging without any additional information required. These are all unique features of WPTC which are not possible with InfiniteWP. WPTC is different in every way from InfiniteWP.
WPTC focusses on giving you the confidence of updating your sites while InfiniteWP will remain your multiple management solution giving you an eagle’s eye view of all your sites.
As I mentioned on my previous post, we will be building an addon for WP Time Capsule on InfiniteWP. With this addon, you will be able to manage your backups that you have taken via WPTC and initiate new backups from the IWP Panel without having to login to the WPTC dashboard. The Addon for InfiniteWP may take a while. Just to be sure, there is nothing in WPTC that overlaps your current feature set in IWP. Purchase the WPTC lifetime plans, you will get additional benefits and features that you will not get in InfiniteWP.
