Sneak Peek – 3.0

In recent posts, we mentioned about a total revamp of the admin panel with v3.0. Now, I would like to give you a quick peek inside.

Complete Revamp

Not only the v3.0 include a brand new user interface, but there will also be an improvement in the overall user experience. I am sure you will love it. We are progressively migrating from our old architecture to the more modern Javascript framework – Vue.js.

Due to this change, all data on your IWP admin panel will get updated dynamically. For example, when you apply updates, earlier you had to click Reload data or revisit Updates page to the refresh the updates list. Now, the updates list will get refreshed immediately, when updates complete ensuring that you are viewing only the available updates at all times.

Reload Data fetches everything.

Formerly, Reload data was used to only to fetch available updates from your WordPress sites. Now, Reload data brings all your site updates, plugins and themes lists, and Google Analytics data.

The left Sites List is now the Site Selector.

The site selector has changed with version 3.0. Earlier you had to select the sites individually to perform any tasks on your admin panel. Hereafter, the left site list will be your site selector. Just by checking the sites from the left sites list, you can perform operations selectively.

Tablet Experience

Many of you use the admin panel from tablets and mobile devices. Of course, you can zoom in, but that makes navigating around the dashboard quite laborious. So we wanted to make it responsive and easier to access the panel on any device. As a first step towards this, we have made the admin panel responsive on tablets. We will gradually make it usable on smaller resolution screens also.

We are excited to work on v3.0 as it will take your WordPress management workflow to a whole new level. Take a look and let us know what you think.
